XTERRA CURSA DE L'ALBA
22 KM – 1200 M+

DESCRIPTION
The XTERRA Cursa de l’Alba is a race with a positive elevation gain of 1,200m+. The first two kilometres of the race run through the streets of Collbató, before entering a stretch of road and steps. From this point onwards, you follow a path through Montserrat Natural Park, running round the middle of the massif on a slightly downhill stretch until approximately kilometre 3, where a steep climb begins up to Pla de Sant Miquel. From here, you enter a stretch of wide concrete track that will lead you to Montserrat Monastery. At this point, accompanying people can arrive by car, rack railway or air to cheer the participants on.
Here one of the hardest sections of the race begins, combining more than 1,200 steps with stretches of path of incomparable beauty up to the peak of Sant Jeroni (highest point of the massif at 1,236m). A descent of about 1.2km will lead you to a gentle descent of approximately 3km until you reach Pla de Sant Miquel again, where you will face the last very technical descent to the finish line.
As the Cursa de l’Alba runs through Montserrat Natural Park, most of the route offers unbeatable views of the different rock formations of this massif.
