montserrat xterra marathon

42 KM – 2500M+

DESCRIPTION

The XTERRA Marató de la Cursa de l’Alba is a challenge of endurance with a demanding positive slope that crosses the most emblematic paths of the Natural Park of Montserrat. The race starts in Collbató, running through its streets before entering the massif and continuing up to Coll de Can Rubió. From here, runners will enjoy the views from the Roques Blaves viewpoint before tackling the climb up to Capbrot de Rubió, where the mountain begins to show its most demanding side.

The route continues towards Pont de can Estruch and Font de la Guineu, offering stretches of hiking surrounded by nature. The ascent continues to Sant Miquel Hermitage, descends towards Montserrat Monastery, and here the steps lead you to the Francès pass and continue to Santa Anna where you will go to look for the path of the arrel. From here you will continue along the GR172 to Coll de Guirló and start the descent to the mythical Camí dels Francesos where you will start the most powerful climb of the route to reach the maximum height of the massif – Sant Jeroni 1.236m.

Once crowned, you will descend towards the Sant Jeroni Hermitage, the Pla de les Tarantules, Sant Miquel and with a technical descent along the path of the batteries you will arrive at the Passeig Mansuet de Collbató, where you will find the finish line.
