REGULATIONS
– The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon takes place entirely in Montserrat Natural Park.
– The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon starts and finishes at Rambla Mansuet.
– The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon has a positive elevation gain of approximately 2,000m+.
– The registration prices are indicated below:
- €65 until 2nd June 2025
- €70 until 1st September 2025
- €75 until 5th November 2025
(-€3 for 4000 peus members, must be accredited when collecting your bib number)
– Registration includes:
- Bib number and disposable chip
- Commemorative t-shirt
- 3 refreshment stations during the race + at finish line
- Medical assistance
- Showers
- Lockers
The race will start in groups according to the time indicated on the registration form.
– Insurance is included for FEEC and FEDME federated runners. Non-federated runners must pay €3 for a day’s insurance when registering.
– The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon, XTERRA Cursa de l’Alba and the MitjAlba are independent races, therefore, you cannot change distances once your registration has been processed.
– Runners cannot change course during the race. Should anyone make such a change, they will be excluded from the classifications of the two distances.
– There will be no cups at the refreshment stations, so participants can bring their own hydration bag or cup. This step is taken as an environmental and climate change awareness and health measure.
RETURN POLICY
– Any cancellation of registration must be done by email to: [email protected]
– Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted. Payment of the registration fee refund will be made by crediting the card used at the time of registration, subject to the following conditions. In case of a refund of the registration fee, the conditions are as follows:
- Until 30th September 2025 – 100%
- From 1st October to 15th October 2025 – 80%
- From 16th October to 31st October 2025 – 50%
- From 1st November 2025, no refunds will be made.
– The entire route will be properly signposted with tape and there will be members of the organisation at the most confusing or dangerous crossings. It is strictly forbidden to stray from the signposted route.
– Runners will find 8 refreshment stations during the race.
– The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon is chip-timed.
– All participants will receive a commemorative technical t-shirt and other gifts when collecting their bib number.
– At the finish line, participants will be provided with solid and liquid refreshments.
– Bib numbers collection will take place on Friday 7th November from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 8th November from 07:00 to 07:45, at the Cassinet – Rambla Mansuet, s/n – Collbató.
SAFETY
– All refreshment stations during the Montserrat XTERRA Marathon have a first aid kit for any minor incidents. Registered runners have the right to use it, but will never be given medication.
– Any information regarding the race (kilometre point, elevation gain, next refreshment station, etc.) can be consulted on the information panels installed for such purpose at each and every one of the refreshment stations. For any further information, please ask the person in charge of the refreshment station.
– Participants will be provided with an internal telephone number for possible emergencies. There are areas with little or no coverage, in which case the emergency telephone number 112 should be used.
– The organisers are not responsible for returning disqualified runners or runners who abandon the race for other reasons to the finish line. Only runners who have suffered an injury or accident will be transported, and if the injury or accident is serious, the medical service contracted for such purpose will be in charge of transporting the runners.
– The race is covered by liability insurance.
– All runners participating in the Montserrat XTERRA Marathon are aware of the difficulty of the race, and recognise that they are fit, both in terms of their health and their physical condition, to take part.
– Bad weather will not prevent the race from taking place, but if the weather conditions are adverse, with thunderstorms or gusts of wind that could endanger the safety of the runners, the organisers reserve the right to suspend the race or change the route if they consider it necessary.
– The participants exempt the organisation from any responsibility in case of accident or injury resulting from the race.
– The organisation refuses all responsibility in case of personal or material damages suffered by itself or third parties, derived from the race.
– Just before the race starts, a briefing will be given with the latest news and indications.
– All images generated in connection with the Montserrat XTERRA Marathon are the property of the organisers, who may use them as they see fit.
PARTICIPANTS
The Montserrat XTERRA Marathon is limited to 300 participants.

- 18-19 years old on 31st December of the year of the race
- 20-24 years old on 31st December of the year of the race
- 25-29 years old on 31st December of the year of the race
- 30-34 years old on 31st December of the year of the race

- 40-44 years old on 31st December of the year of the race
- 45-49 years old on 31st December of the year of the race
- 50-54 years old on 31st December of the year of the race

QUALIFICATION PLACES
Marathon and Half Marathon
*Places are only valid for the distance at which they were obtained. If you obtain a place in a half marathon race, it will qualify you for the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship in the half marathon category. If you obtain a place in a marathon, it will qualify you for the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship in the marathon category. Reducing the qualifying distance will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of XTERRA officials.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
– Failure to complete the entire route marked out by the organisers.
– Failure to take care and respect the environment. No rubbish or containers of any kind may be thrown or dumped outside the areas marked out for such purpose (refreshment stations), and the organisers reserve the right to mark the solid and liquid containers that each participant may use during the race. Remember that you are running in the Natural Park, which is a protected area.
– Not wearing your bib number on your chest or in a highly visible area on your front.
– Failure to help a fellow participant, and failure to report it to the nearest control point.
– Receiving external assistance outside of the spaces provided (refreshment stations).
– Using any type of prohibited substance considered as doping by the athletics or mountain federations.
– Failure to follow the instructions of the organisers at all times and during the race. This will result in immediate disqualification.
– There will be three time cuts:
- Montserrat Monastery
- Sant Jeroni
- Can Massana
Disqualified runners who wish to continue running will do so at their own risk, having handed in their race bib and chip to the organisers.
ANYTHING NOT FORESEEN HEREIN IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ORGANISATION. ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE MONTSERRAT XTERRA MARATHON ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE RULES OF THE RACE.
